Japanese.

The new issue of Photoworks is out and I highly recommend you run down to Borders, Permananet Gallery, Tate Modern or anywhere else to find yourself a copy. The new issue is co-edited by Jason Evans and focuses on Japanese Photography. I helped do some rough scans for the issue and as such got to see all of the books, the magazine doesn't quite do Winter's Tale justice so make sure you check that out for yourself too! The issue also brings together many of the talented tutors/photographers and writers that taught me as well as a few friends, so run down and find out what this Japanese photography thing is all about!

PS make sure you check out Ariko's website aarriikkoo.com, Sol is beautiful!

Sol.

Last week I was scanning lots of japanese photobooks for the new issue of Photoworks which will be coedited by Gordon McDonald and Jason Evans. My favourite book was 'Sol' by Akiro who is a japanese photographer who went to shoot in Iceland. My favouritism might be influenced by the fact I am reading Journey To The Centre Of The Earth (which is well worth a read) but Sol and Akiro's website are well worth searching for.
